Fair Trade Healdsburg is a non-profit organization established April, 2011 with a goal to educate and raise awareness of Fair Trade. Through a group of dedicated volunteers holding events, meetings and other outreach we hope to spread the message of the power of Fair Trade to shift a community from a position of vulnerability to one of economic self-sufficiency without charity. By joining together conscious consumers, local businesses, communities of faith, students and local government, we gained unanimous support from City Council and on Sept 8, 2011, Healdsburg was officially declared the first Fair Trade Town in Sonoma County.
We look forward to continued outreach and promotion of businesses locally while eliminating the exploitation of producers globally. We strongly encourage our community to "Shop Local" first and "Shop Fair Trade" for those products not produced locally. We are proud of our socially responsible town and proud that Healdsburg stands for global relationships based on fairness and mutual respect.
